Long story short: tell your Congressfolk to put limits on Presidential immunity, protect voting rights, and reject pro-financial predator legislation. Use the tools in the upper right-hand corner of this page (or, if you're on a cellphone, the bottom of this page) to find your Congressfolk's phone numbers and/or use the email/petition tools in the following paragraphs.
Left Click helps you tell your Congressfolk to pass legislation limiting Presidential immunity for crimes a President might commit while in office. Seriously, it boggles the mind that we revolted against a King who abused his power and hurt us, but now we have to immunize a President from facing any legal accountability for his actions when he hurts us while in office, so Congress has to act, lest our federal judges decide that a President who literally shoots someone dead on Fifth Avenue can’t be prosecuted for it because it’s an “official act.” And make no mistake: right-wing judges will not call any of Joe Biden’s “official acts” official. So we’ve got to step up.
The Workers Circle helps you tell your Congressfolk to pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. Our Supreme Court, as you know, struck down our government’s ability to scrutinize voting law changes in Southern states, on the pretext that such an ability “discriminated” against Southern states – don’t chew on that too long; it’ll just anger up the blood! – but the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act would correct that mistake, in more or less the manner our Supreme Court prescribed, by subjecting any state or locality, Southern or not, to similar scrutiny if they’ve demonstrated a pattern of vote suppression. So don’t listen to the haters; just do good works.
Finally, Americans for Financial Reform helps you tell your Congressfolk to reject any legislation that would repeal the Biden Administration’s newly-enacted “fiduciary responsibility” rule. I’m not sure what else I can say about this! The Biden rule forces financial planners – including those in charge of your pensions – to put your financial security ahead of their own. And that’s because they too often put their own financial needs ahead of yours! But Republicans want to pass a resolution nullifying that rule, meaning those Republicans are objectively pro-financial predation, since we enable financial predators every time we go easy on them. How about we not go easy on evil, then?
