Long story short: tell our government to crack down on bankster ownership of health care assets, tell big tech to stop using our personal data to train their AI models, and tell our government to force big health insurance corporations to cover birth control at no cost and without a prescription. Use the email/petition tools in the following paragraphs to communicate your will.
Americans for Financial Reform helps you tell our government to crack down on private equity ownership of health care assets, like hospitals, doctors’ offices, emergency departments, and medical equipment manufacturers. Welcome to another exciting edition of Banksters Ruin Everything! Banksters will buy up all of these things and consolidate them so that services are worse but income gets redistributed upward to executives, and they’ll also indulge in “loot-and-strip” practices like usurious management fees and sale-leaseback arrangements (right, Red Lobster?). Result: more money for no-work-doing pricks, and illness, death, and misery for the rest of us. We deserve better.
Eko helps you tell big tech corporations to stop using our data to train AI models. Not least because AI models are pretty slow learners, if recent evidence is any guide (“just deal with depression by jumping off a bridge”!), but also because it’s private, regardless of what cynics tell you. Nothing is private on the internet ha ha ha snort – cynics are such useless people. Anyway, this action could well be the basis of future lawsuits that won’t necessarily make us rich – or even restore to us what we’ve lost – but would punish corporations severely enough that they’ll think twice about doing it more. That may sound a bit long-game, but it’s worth doing.
Finally, Daily Kos helps you tell our government to require health insurance corporations to cover birth control without cost and without a prescription. Don’t believe isolated anecdotes about the “harms” of birth control medication! The people telling those anecdotes just want to hurt women! That’s all they want to do! Sorry, I just don’t think folks are that complex anymore. President Biden can do this with the authority the Affordable Care Act already gives him, just as former President Trump did the opposite with the same authority, and there’s no good reason working families should have less access to the pill than rich folks, so let’s get moving.
