Long story short: tell your Congressfolk to protect voting rights, protect investors from financial predators, and ensure folks can get the birth control they need. Use the tools in the upper right-hand corner of this page (or, if you're on a cellphone, the bottom of this page) to find your Congressfolk's phone numbers and/or use the email/petition tools in the following paragraphs.
Daily Kos helps you tell your Congressfolk to fight vote suppression by passing the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. The former would enact same-day and automatic voter registration all around America and vastly curtail partisan gerrymandering, while the latter would subject any state or locality with a demonstrated history of vote suppression (not just Southern states or localities, which seemed to be our Supreme Court’s problem in Shelby County v. Holder) to additional Justice Department management of their voting laws. And that’s how we get more Americans to vote! Not by stoking their rage, that’s for sure.
Social Security Works helps you tell your Congressfolk to reject any resolution that would roll back the Biden Administration’s rule requiring financial advisors to put their customers’ interests first when giving financial advice. It’s a shame we have to spell that out, but we do – too many financial advisors only care about their own bottom line, even though they’re investing with your money. And it’s an even bigger shame that Republicans have such a hard-on to repeal this extremely common-sense rule. What’s wrong with them? Are they objectively pro-financial predators? Are they objectively pro-corruption? Of course they are! I don’t judge by their “intentions,” but by their actions.
Finally, the National Women’s Law Center helps you tell your Congressfolk to pass the Right to Contraception Act. It wasn’t that long ago that Republican politicians told people that if you protect and promote birth control you’ll have fewer abortions, but today’s Republicans are against all of it! Why, it’s enough to make you think they were lying when they said they favored birth control! Anyway, the bill would generally prohibit any attempt to keep people from getting the contraception they need, and wouldn’t let folks claim BUTZ MY FRAGILEZ RELIGIZ CONSHUNZ!!!! if they try. Remember: religious freedom is all about your ability to practice your faith, not your ability to force everyone else to practice your faith.
