Long story short: tell your Senators to stop big pharma drug patent abuse, and tell President Biden to put people on our USPS Board of Governors who will finally fire Postmaster General DeJoy. Use the tools in the upper right-hand corner of this page (or, if you're on a cellphone, the bottom of this page) to find your Congressfolk's phone numbers and/or use the email/petition tools in the following paragraphs.
U.S. PIRG helps you tell your Senators to stop big pharma drug patent abuse, one stratagem big pharma corporations use to charge absurd amounts of money on the drugs they develop. They use “patent thickets,” or multiple overlapping patents for the same product, and they also use “product hopping,” where they create new patents even for minor changes to a product, and they also use “pay-for-delay” agreements, where they pay plaintiffs to stop suing them because, hey, they’ve got crap-tons of money they made from all their other anti-competitive tactics which result EpiPens costing $600 and AbbVie charging five figures for Humira more than 20 years later and folks rationing their insulin because they can’t afford it. So our Senators need to hear from us.
Daily Kos helps you tell President Biden to appoint two new members to our USPS Board of Governors who will finally get rid of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. He’s raised prices, cut services, and slashed jobs, all things our executive class calls “bold leadership” but which any reasonable person would call bad leadership. He’s also proposed closing Post Offices in rural areas which not only have no viable mail-delivery alternatives but which have to vote by mail because they don’t have actual polling places. And all of these “bold” moves may well kill good Americans, since so many of us depend on our Postal Service for life-saving medicines. I know, he wants to make our Postal Service run badly so he can privatize it. But why should we allow that?
