Long story short: tell our CMS to enact the most vigorous hospital price transparency rule possible, and tell big pharma corporations to stop trying to stop Medicare drug price negotiation. Use the email/petition tools in the following paragraphs to communicate your will.
U.S. PIRG helps you tell our Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (or CMS) to enact the most vigorous hospital price transparency rule possible. Because the price of health care is too damn high and none of us have any idea how much things are supposed to cost! Big corporations generally won’t try to argue that point, but they’ll whine about “innovation” and “jobs,” which you can always answer by saying the cost of health care is too damn high and we all think you’re gouging us, and look at you not even lifting a finger to prove you’re not! They’ll try to weaken the rules in other ways (like posting “estimates” or posting prices in computer formats you won’t be able to read); U.S. PIRG lists these, and you’ll oppose them when you sign.
The National Campaign for Justice helps you tell big pharma corporations to stop suing our government over Medicare drug price negotiation. Virtually everyone supports Medicare drug price negotiation – which proves that the American people are smarter than professional cynics want us to think – but big pharma still wants to try to kill it in court, or at least hurt us in doing so. That’s right, I said hurt us – you think our government is getting the money to defend Medicare price negotiation from somewhere other than our taxes? Big pharma would hurt us just to preserve their unearned billions; that’s really all we have to say about it.
