Long story short: tell our VA to maximize abortion coverage for our veterans, tell our EPA to ban dicamba, and tell big corporations to stop donating to Republican insurrection-symps. Use the email/petition tools in the following paragraphs to communicate your will.
Moms Rising helps you tell our Veterans Administration (or VA) to enact the most vigorous abortion rights protections possible. Our VA provides care to about 6.5 million American veterans, and they risked their lives for us – no, really, they did, even though our politicians have largely sent them off to stupid wars for the last few decades – so they deserve the strongest health care protections they can get. And that includes abortion care! Currently our VA only proposed covering abortion care under very narrow circumstances; luckily the commenting tool leaves space for you to describe some more conditions requiring abortion care coverage. As we learned this summer, not everyone knows that information, and they need to.
Penn PIRG helps you tell our Environmental Protection Agency (or EPA) to ban the notorious herbicide dicamba. Our Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals banned dicamba in 2020, which set off predictable howls of WE’LL NEVER HAVEZ FOODZ AGAINZ!!!!! from right-wingers, but if we can’t make food without spraying toxic pesticides all over it, then we deserve death. (Luckily right-wingers are being dramatic about all of this, as usual – we’re all still eating two years later, after all.) Dicamba also has this nasty habit of drifting to other farms and killing other farmers’ crops, and we still care about farmers, right? And not just about big ag corporate executive pay? So let’s get in our EPA’s grills about this, so they do the right thing.
Finally, the Daily Kos Democracy Project helps you tell big corporations to actually keep their word and stop donating to Republican politicians who tried to overturn the 2020 election. Now, over 70 corporations, including the likes of PepsiCo, Target, and Zillow, have kept their word, and they deserve our thanks for that, but a slew of other corporations – some 1,200 corporations and industry groups – have broken their word, mainly by donating to corporate PACs they must have thought nobody was watching. But we were watching! And we wield the Big Stick of Bad PR! Corporations don’t like bad PR, but if they deserve it, we must give it.
