Long story short: tell President Biden to issue campaign disclosure rules for federal contracting corporations, tell state Attorneys General to protect self-managed abortion, and tell President Biden to appoint two new USPS Board of Governors members who’ll fire Postmaster General DeJoy. Use the email/petition tools in the following paragraphs to communicate your will.
Public Citizen helps you tell President Biden to issue an Executive Order forcing federal contracting corporations to disclose their political campaign spending. They are taking our money, after all, so we deserve to know how they’re spending it! You may recognize that since most corporations contract with our federal government for some reason or other, this Executive Order would, to some degree, get around our Congress’s refusal to pass the DISCLOSE Act. If folks don’t like that, they can try to take away our President’s authority to issue such an Order! Rather than whine about TEH AMURIKAN CAESARZ!!!!, I mean. Whining is so unseemly.
Daily Kos helps you tell your state Attorney General to protect the individual right to self-managed abortion. Thanks to technological advances, self-managed abortion (largely with mifepristone or miferpristol) is now generally safe up to the 12th week of pregnancy, and while states have largely left self-managed abortion alone even in their anti-abortion zeal, some prosecutors still go after self-managed abortions – particularly in poor/Black/Brown neighborhoods. But Attorneys General can (among other things) prioritize resources in different directions. And to stop America from turning women into mere breeders, they should.
Finally, Save the Post Office helps you tell President Biden to nominate two more qualified individuals to our USPS Board of Governors, so they can get rid of Postmaster General DeJoy. Why get rid of Mr. DeJoy? Roll call! He tried to interfere with the 2020 election! He had money in the corporation that provided free COVID tests this past winter! He’s raised prices, cut services, and slashed jobs! And all this drama means good Americans who rely on our Postal Service to get their life-saving medications suffer. And that’s a sin we should definitely punish Mr. DeJoy for committing.
