Long story short: tell President Biden to force federal contractors to disclose campaign contributions, appoint two more members to the USPS Board of Governors when their terms are up at the end of this year, and fire a corrupt Inspector General at our Department of Homeland Security. Use the email/petition tools in the following paragraphs to communicate your will.
Public Citizen helps you tell President Biden to require federal contracting corporations to disclose their political campaign contributions. Right-wingers say doing so would violate these corporations’ free speech rights, but a) they’re corporations, not people and b) we generally insist that those who speak out show themselves, except when doing so might get them beaten up or killed. Think any corporations are getting beaten up or killed over their campaign contributions? No, at worst they’re getting shamed, which ain’t even close to the same thing. And if these corporations get taxpayer money, they should tell taxpayers what they’re doing with it. So this is a no-brainer.
Save the Post Office helps you tell President Biden to appoint two more members of the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors, so they can get together and fire Postmaster General DeJoy, who’s still planning to raise prices, cut services, and (now) slash jobs, none of which marks the bold thinking we supposedly value in our private sector corporations (though is what passes for "bold thinking" among CEOs like Mr. DeJoy). I know, it seems like President Biden's appointed 87 people to the Board of Governors already, but two more spots on the Board will open at the end of the year, so we need to remind him that we care about our Postal Service.
Finally, Public Citizen also helps you tell President Biden to fire Dept. of Homeland Security Inspector General Joseph Cuffari. To be frank, our laws allow our President to remove Inspectors General far too easily – remember when Mr. Trump fired four Inspectors General in 2020 so he could install lackeys in their positions? But Mr. Biden won’t have to do much explaining here: Mr. Cuffari has helped cover up scandals involving mass COVID infections in our Secret Service, the 2020 Lafayette Square protest (i.e., the one where Mr. Trump brandished a Bible at a photo-op), and, of course, our Secret Service’s deletion of certain texts on January 6. So, yeah, this dude’s got to go.
