Hard to believe, Harry, but Georgia state legislators want to require their bosses, the voters, to submit two copies of a photo ID in order to vote absentee. So what's wrong with signature matching, then? Signature matching didn't prevent Joe Biden from winning Georgia and Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff from winning the Senate runoffs, that's what. Georgia legislators can talk all they want about how "their constituents feel" that last election wasn't "secure," but, ah, I'll just say it: fuck your feelings. Apparently a state audit finding zero instances of fraud in Georgia absentee ballots just can't stack up next to some weakling's "feelings." So: Gov. Kemp's phone number is 404.656.1776, while Senate Majority Leader Mike Dugan's number is 404.463.2478 and House Speaker David Ralston's number is 404.656.5020. Go ahead and call them and tell them to reject the sore loser bill, SB 29. Really! Feel absolutely free to call it that!
Meanwhile, a bankster hedge fund named Melvin Capital Management started short-selling GameStop stock, figuring that the mall-based electronics retailer was a one-handed push away from falling off a cliff -- but then Reddit users started buying up the stock, which drove up the price, which left the hedge fund holding the bag. In other words, regular folks pulled off a glorious piece of resistance against Wall Street hegemony, although you just know banksters will look to stop any future such actions in the next domestic terrorism bill. Strange how they feel "terrorized" by any attempt to keep them from sucking billions of dollars out of corporations like the vampires they are. So now's a good time to call your Reps and Senators (you can find their phone numbers using the tools in the upper right-hand corner of this page -- or, if you're on a cellphone, the bottom of this page) and tell them one simple message: no bailouts for Melvin Capital. Because you know their hands are out!
Finally, Change.org helps you tell our Congressfolk to save our U.S. Postal Service. And of course Change.org allows you to write a short message along with signing the petition, and that's an opportunity you shouldn't waste, since so many evil people (cough most of the USPS Board of Governors and the Postmaster General cough) think "saving our Post Office" means privatizing it so some crony or other can get even richer. What should we do to help save our Post Office? Kill all the changes Postmaster General DeJoy proposed; repeal the law requiring our Post Office to prepay an absurd amount of money annually into its pension fund; allow our Post Office to offer basic banking services like check-cashing, bill payment, ATMs, and electronic money transfers. Particularly since in those urban and rural areas where the banksters won't go, good Americans too often find themselves at the mercy of payday lenders. Only a Scrooge McSmallgovernment could oppose any of these things! Which reminds me, someone go ask Rand Paul about them. I'm sure that'll be a laugh.
