If you've missed previous opportunities to tell our government to stop trying to impose work requirements on food stamps and Medicaid, then Moms Rising still helps you do that. To the folks who say imposing such requirements will induce poorer folks to get work, I have two things to say: 1) slap yourself, and 2) the whole point of food stamps and Medicaid is to give people a hand up when they need it. As it happens, our economy has become so insane that most folks getting food stamps and Medicaid are already working, because their bosses don't pay them enough so they can make ends meet. Maybe instead of telling tall tales about the "laziness" of the poor, we can restrain the rich from redistributing everyone's income upward to themselves? Or pass higher minimum wages, since that's a rising tide that actually does lift all boats? Or would doing these things cut too deeply into right-wingers' need to be in a state of rage all the time?
Meanwhile, if you've missed previous opportunities to tell your Congressfolk to reject the scam of a "paid family leave" plan offered by Sen. Rubio, then CREDO still helps you do that. Why would we ever reject a paid family leave plan, since we've been fighting for one for years? Well, because Mr. Rubio's plan would take from Social Security to fund it, and we've never fought for weakening one earned benefit for another. This is nothing more than a plan to injure the Social Security benefits you worked for, paid for, fought for, and deserve. And America is a great country that deserves better than our leaders taking the people's will hostage in order to do evil. Also, too, drawing money out of Social Security now cheats today's seniors, now -- meaning that Mr. Rubio also intends to pit senior against new parent. Of course, pitting American against American is how Our Glorious Elites keep their power. The good news? If we resist them, we'll take their power away.
