Ho hum, U.S. Military Academy study finds that right-wing terrorist attacks outnumbered Muslim terrorist attacks in America by a ratio of about nine to one. And yet our "liberal" media does not refer to these terrorists as "an existential threat." When right-wingers take this result personally, be sure to make them point out what's factually incorrect in the Military Academy study.
HHS Inspector General finds fraud and abuse still plague Medicare's Part D drug insurance program, with at least 1,400 pharmacies engaging in "questionable practices." Again: when right-wingers point to fraud as a reason "government just doesn't work," they're really saying they don't have the cojones to make it work. Citizenship is so hard, after all.
U.S. Supreme Court rules that law enforcement must serve Los Angeles hotel owners with a warrant if they want info on those hotels' guests. Bad news? It was another 5-4 win, with Anthony Kennedy (who's pretty good on law-and-order issues) joining the Court's nominally liberal wing. One would like to be able to count on more than Justice Kennedy's law-and-order streak.
"To Better Protect Workers," the Center for Effective Government announces, "We Need More Wage Inspectors and Stronger Enforcement." Which Republicans will block, because DEFICITZ!!!! Well, really they block it because it works, and you can't run against incompetent government when government is competent.
The Chicago Tribune runs a story on Scott Walker's little experiment in corporate welfare, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, an entity so corrupt that no one reviewed approximately one out of every 14 WEDC awards, totaling over $135 million. We can't discount the possibility that the "liberal" media has picked up this story so that when Scott Walker becomes President, they can talk about all the "adversity" he's had to overcome.
Very conservative Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals judge rules against corporations arguing that filling out the form saying you have a religious objection to birth control itself violates their religious freedom. I just hope he doesn't find pastors setting themselves on fire outside his door.
