Ho hum, another day, another New York Times columnist asserting that the right is actually the center. Opposing a minimum wage hike can't be a "centrist" policy because the vast majority of Americans support a minimum wage hike, but then for the "liberal" media the "center" occupies a spot on some imaginary continuum with ever-shifting goal posts, and has nothing to do with, you know, where Americans actually are.
North Carolina's new fracking law not only doesn't protect North Carolina's drinking water, but gives massive handouts to gas drillers. This, after one state legislator called the state's renewable energy standard a handout! The law also prevents municipalities from assessing impact fees, because Republicans are the party of small government.
Fox News contributor spews a bunch of hateful crap on TV about Cosmos host Neil deGrasse Tyson and the "white liberal nerds" who comprise a part of his fan base. Said prick, whom we will not name, adds that Mr. Tyson used to get "profiled" a lot as a youngster because of his "huge afro" and "cutoff shirt." Does he provide evidence that huge afros and cutoff shirts were ever actual indicators of criminal behavior (and not just police harassment)? Of course not -- for Fox News, it's not about racists having facts, it's about racists having feelings.
The Consumerist details "one of the scammiest payday loans we've ever seen," in which a $300 payday loan somehow turns into nearly $1000 in payments over just 10 weeks. Also, the corporation giving out the loans has explicitly told its trainers to teach sales reps to lie to customers, and has tried to escape FTC oversight by claiming Native American affiliation. We should frog-march these people to prison in a public ceremony.
Finally, Navy SEAL who oversaw bin Laden raid says the Keystone XL pipeline would be "a target to terrorists," partly because it's been all over the news, and partly because Keystone's builders have provided almost no security on construction sites. Also, too, it's a giant above-ground pipeline moving filthy crude oil over heartland drinking water. Next up on Fox News: indisputable documentary evidence that all of Dave Cooper's fellow SEALs hated him!
