Jesus Mary and Joseph we just got rid of those VOTER FRAUD IZ CRIME YOU BLACKBROWN CRIMNULZ!!!!! billboards in Ohio and Wisconsin, but now the Pennsylvania government has put up billboards in Latino neighborhoods telling them, in Spanish, that if you want to vote, you should show your ID. Pimps, please. Judge Simpson said you don't have to show your ID, at least for this election, and telling people they should show their ID is going to make them think they have to show their ID (for who contemplates the deep meaning of what they see on a billboard as they're driving past it?) and that might make people stay home. It's almost like that's the idea. And guess who owns the billboards? Clear Channel, of course -- they own most of the outdoor billboards in America, because the "free" market never, ever results in monopolies! So Presente helps you tell the state and Clear Channel to ditch these billboards already.
Have I mentioned a la carte cable packaging lately? No? Well, the Parents Television Council still helps you demand that Congress force cable corporations to sell you only the TV channels you want, and not the channels you don't want. Even if we don't actually watch cable channels, even if we make the cable company come out and block the channels, even if we organize boycotts of the channels' advertisers, we're still paying for the channels, and as long as we're paying for them whether we watch them or not, they'll never change their behavior for the better. And I want them to change their behavior for the better -- I want the cable news channels to give us news that isn't junk or propaganda, just as the PTC would like MTV to put out more family-friendly programming (I'd settle for good programming from MTV, but I feel their pain). And parents should have more power to keep unwanted TV out of their house. It's hard out there.
I’ve nominated Thieves in the Temple for a “One Lovely Blog” award (it’s not exactly an award, but it is nice). Read more about it here: http://perfectwhole.wordpress.com/2012/10/27/one-lovely-blog/
