Truth Out interviews Mike Lofgren, the ex-GOP Congressional staffer who famously broke with his party shortly after the debt limit debacle. I'd be a little gruffer toward the almost 30-year GOP vet -- after all, who remembers or cares that Bush Mobb adviser Matthew Dowd had his doubts late in Mr. Bush's second term? -- if he weren't so damn incisive. And though he's got reason to be, he's not a pessimist.
Cancer researchers find that chemotherapy might actually help cancer cells grow, by damaging the DNA of healthy cells, which then secrete a protein that makes cancer cells less susceptible to chemo. In other news, cancer sucks.
Ex-Clinton staffer/Fox News fixture Dick Morris says he's seen "the real numbers," and they're more favorable to Mr. Romney than the media wants you to think. Doesn't link to any of the "real" numbers, or even identify the polling organization with the "real" numbers. What should we call this, non-news? How about anti-news?
