American economy added 80,000 jobs in June, per "establishment" survey; official unemployment stays at 8.2%. Not good.

News Corp. head Rupert Murdoch purportedly doesn't think much of Mitt Romney -- too "soft," too much like a consultant and not a leader. I don't know which is more annoying: the notion that Mr. Romney can't win because he doesn't "connect" with Rupert Murdoch or Paul Gigot, or the notion that this "disconnect" isn't all theatre. Of course Mr. Murdoch would want everyone to think he doesn't like Mr. Romney; that makes Mr. Romney more appealing to independents.

Louisiana state legislator now opposes Gov. Jindal's religious school voucher program because it isn't limited only to "the Founders' religion." By which I assume she means "Deism."

Christian Identity Ministries begins three-day conference for "white Christians" in Alabama. Conferees to practice chants like waaaah! I don't have all the say about everything; therefore I am oppressed! Waaah! Change my diaper!
